Benefits of Resveratrol

Before discussing the benefits of resveratrol, let’s look at why the French are so dang healthy? I mean, it's ridiculous. How can a nation of people chain-smoking and gorging on cheese avoid heart disease?

Not fair.

Okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration. But there is something called the French Paradox in the medical community. It has to do with red wine.

Red Wine Resveratrol

Red wine contains resveratrol, a phytochemical found in the grapes and grape skins used to produce wine.

Some say it has anti-aging properties. Many people believe that the French’s drinking of red wine has lowered their incidence of heart disease.

benefits of resveratrol So is it true?

No one can say for sure.

Preliminary studies show that this chemical compound may be an excellent antioxidant. It's also being tested for its cancer-fighting and anti-inflammatory power.

There's also evidence that it raises "good cholesterol" and lowers "bad cholesterol".

But, as yet, no definitive conclusions
have been made.

Resveratrol Supplements Any Good?

Well, like the French, you could have a glass of red wine with meals. But I don’t recommend drinking wine just to get the benefits of resveratrol---drinking lots of alcohol is bad for your health.

FACT: The best natural source is actually peanuts, not red wine.

At this time, research on resveratrol's effect on humans is minimal, so I caution against taking a high dosage. Instead of seeking out a resveratrol supplement, consider a multi-nutrient supplement that contains resveratrol as well as a wide range of other ingredients.
