What Does PABA Do?

What does PABA do?

If you’re familiar with PABA (para-aminobenzoic acid), you may recognize it as a sunscreen ingredient. This antioxidant reduces your skin’s absorption of ultraviolet-B rays. It helps prevent skin cancer.

PABA also assists in the efficient use of protein.

PABA Gray Hair

PABA gray hair

Preliminary research has shown that supplemental PABA may reverse graying hair. Often, stress or a nutritional deficiency is the cause.

Other benefits of PABA include:

  • protection against
    secondhand smoke

  • reduced arthritis inflammation

  • increased flexibility

PABA Supplements

Don't take a PABA-only supplement. It's better to take a multi-nutrient supplement with PABA as one of many ingredients. I recommend taking PABA with vitamin C; they're complementary nutrients.
